There is a little fact about protein that I wasn’t aware of until recently….
Most of us are probably aware that bodybuilders slam down loads and loads of protein to help bulk up and also in rebuilding muscle tissue after hard sessions at the gym.
But if we eat more protein than our body actually needs for energy, it will convert this to glucose and store it as fat hence making it more difficult to lose weight if that’s what you are trying to do.
So in short a high protein diet may actually have similar impact on your body as a high carbohydrate diet, and that extra weight you have been piling on after months of heavy gym sessions…may not be all muscle as first thought.
