Yeah yeah I know what you are going to say….
But its a 10 year old bike….
And its a 26er….
But its a 12 year old bike….
And its a 27 speed….
But its a 10 year old bike!!
I originally fell for this bike back in 2008….with its super lightweight frame lefty fork and carbon chainstays. But then it was way out of my price range as a team replica xc race bike.
But when it came up on Gumtree I was sold and thought it would be a great just to hang on the wall and admire.
But after a quick loop around my local cross country trails I was in awe…this thing is an xc weapon.
Ok the lefty fork is a bit notchy (but my local Cannondale dealer assures me he can still get kits to rebuild it as good as new)
And its a bit scratched up
And yes its old 2007 technology
But its super stiff, super light, super sharp turning and climbs like a rat up a drain pipe
I can certainly see why it rocked in its day.
It may not be the ultimate “play” bike, but it sure brings out a smile every time I ride it.
