Quick Tip #9 – How to Avoid Mountain Bike & Carport Disaster

Hey there Rod from Sports Adventure again with today’s quick tip.

And a tip today which is probably an obvious one to most people but I’ve heard it happen so many times when people return home from a great ride, from a great race with the bike on the roof of the car and drive straight into a carport or straight into the garage, ripping the bike, roof racks, the rails straight off the car damaging the car and damaging the bike.

Just an absolute disaster!

Something I do is just to hang an old shirt or something off the roller shutter so as you raise the roller shutter when you’re driving in it hanging down as bit of a prompt just to ensure that you do see it as you drive in and pull up well before you get to the garage door and remove your bike safely and enjoy another ride.

So keep in touch and get out on the trails.

Like any sport, bicycling involves risk of injury and damage. By choosing to ride a bicycle, you assume the responsibility for that risk, so you need to know — and to practice — the rules of safe and responsible riding and of proper use and maintenance. Proper use and maintenance of your bicycle reduces risk of injury.
