What is the preferred way to measure of cholesterol?

When talking about cholesterol in our bodies it’s important to recognise there are a number of indicators that may better predict your own potential for inflammation and oxidation that can then lead to chronic disease other than total ldl cholesterol values which has been a common indicator for some time.

Dr Cate Shanahan author of deep nutrition and food rules believes that your triglyceride to HDL ratio is the best way of monitoring your risk of heart disease aiming for a ratio of 3.5:1 or better

A high triglyceride number may mean your body’s cholesterol processing system is being overrun.
