Quick Tip #15 – How to Ensure Your Mountain Bike Suspension Forks Keep Sliding As Smooth As Silk

Hi there Roddo from Sports Adventure with another quick tip.

Todays quick tip that I want to talk about it is lubing your suspension forks.

This can be in the area of your bike that’s often overlooked and can be an area that can obviously become quite dirty fouled up with a lot of mud dirt and water.

And so is very important to make sure that after a ride when you are maintaining and cleaning your bike you give this area thorough clean –

check the seals make sure they’re all working properly

they’re all nice and clean

all sliding well

And once the bike is clean give it a good lube up with a good suspension grease.

What I do want the sliders and the seals are clean, take a little bit of grease wipe around the outside of each slider and then once and an even film of grease is over the slider just give the forks a quick pump and wipe off any excess grease that may pick up additional dirt and other material when you’re out of the trails.

Very important to do, to make sure that this part of your bike continues working for years and years to come.

So keep in touch and get out on the trails.
